Cowrie shell jewellery

Cowrie shell jewellery became very popular during the spring season and now, that summer has begun, they have turned into a huge trend!

As you might already know what a cowrie shell is, no scientific information needed! The only thing that I would mention, is be very careful with your pieces, they crack and can break into pieces easily. In the past, Italians used to call them 'porcellana' due to their very similar shiny and smooth appearance.

In the market you don't only find the simple cowrie shell pieces, but they are combined together with other gems, jewellery decorations or metals and you can also find them painted in many different colours! Below I wanted to show you two different bracelets. The first one is an adjustable bracelet which consists of cowrie shell beads together with evil eyes in blue colour, by Christina Christi Jewels. Second one on the list is a bracelet with 1 beige and gold cowrie shell bead, round blue coloured hematite beads and different shapes of coral beads by the same brand. Both of them can be layered together with other simple bracelets that you might already own, such a silver or gold bangle. In that way you can create a more formal look wearing the summer on your bracelet!
