Dragon Fruity Tourmalines

Coloured tourmalines add a fruity look on jewellery pieces. I posted a blog about the characteristics of these beauties in the past, thus you can have a look at it if you need some more technical information.

Depending on its colour and on its chemical composition, tourmaline is named differently. Some commercial names are more famous than others, such as Paraíba tourmaline, which is famous for its bright electric greenish blue colour. This variety can achieve very high value, especially if it shows the rich colour, that everybody in the trade look for. However, on this post two other varieties are going to be shown, the elbaite tourmaline on its rubellite and verdelite varieties and also the dravite tourmaline on its chrome variety. I know the names are a bit tough to remember, but this is the beauty of mineralogy and gemmology, isn't it?!

Without further ado, a beautiful pair of earrings in gold plated sterling silver metal by Kiriakos Gofas, which is depicted below, can solve the mystery. As you see, the oval cabochon cut pink gemstones, are the rubellite ones and the crystals of tourmaline in the deep green colour are the chrome ones. However, there is one crystal on a light green colour, which is the verdelite variety.

This pair of earrings has a geometrical symmetry and style, which is perfect if this is what you prefer, as well. It is a very elegant pair, because you add a touch of colour on your outfit but in a very discreet way. It could be characterized as a vintage style, but in a modern approach. If you want to have a look at more pieces of tourmaline jewellery, check out my previous blog about this gemstone.

Jewellery with coloured gemstones, can make you feel a bit better, even if the situation we lived and some of us are still living, is not pleasant at all.
